Niebla – Evocación (2019)

Niebla
Release date: June 24th, 2019
Label: I Hope You Die Rec.

Here is a new Black Metal band from Santiago, this is the first release by the band it’s a 3 track EP according to them.

This was interesting as I was listening to it as there is nothing really new here that hasn’t been heard before but it’s very good for what it is as the arrangements of the tracks keep you glued to it, the opener Ódica Negativa is a prime example as it takes you on a ride.

Abismo is really interesting as the guitar part in the beginning really brings character to the track it’s kinda long but then near half way through it just goes off and it made it so enjoyable and to conclude this Infortunio I: Eclipse is a solid opus as this is the band in it’s full glory! as it crushes and should please anybody into this kinda stuff, the vocals really shine on here a excellent closer.

I look forward to hearing more from the band in the future as I can get into this and I recommend it only thing right now I read only 30 tapes of this were made so it might of sold out by now.

Siaskel – Xo’on Hauk Sho’on (2019)

Siaskel
Release date: April 23rd, 2019
Label: Schattenkult Produktionen/Throats Productions

The third full length from this killer black/death band and this one only contains four tracks but they are long but when I first heard this I was blown away as this is a brilliant release, the wait for this was well worth it as there isn’t a dull moment here at all.

From the start of Kai Klóketen the band comes right at you and it instantly grabs you, as the songs have all have their own killer instinct and there is plenty of good old caos spread out beyond these tracks, even the closer Caspi Káxen Thejin has it’s very special ending.

I highly recommend this as it’s one of the best releases this year, production is awesome you can hear this perfectly, only thing that bothers me is why this bands name hasn’t been more exposed as this is truly one of the undergrounds best kept secrets so hopefully this takes them to another level.

Lux Nigrum – Burning The Eternal Return (2019)

Lux Nigrum
Release date: April 12,2019
Label: Herejia Prods./ Street Metal Blasphemy

Lux Nigrum has returned with this new EP that has five new rituals with it’s own flare that come across with full vengeance and here Azerate the mastermind behind this chaos has stepped it up a notch as this has a new sound compared to the previous works and it really stands out on this EP.

From the opening track Solvet Cosmos In Favilla this comes straight at you with a pounding crushing sound as all cylinders are at full throttle and if you heard the band before you will notice the vocals sound very clear which was something that was kinda toned down on previous works but here they stand out clearly which makes this even more enjoyable but what really caught my ear is the drumming of D. Holocausto (Morbid Holocaust) this made the band even more brutal on this release.

I will say this is interesting even down to the lyrical content as they describe this as a manifest about the sacrifice of the inner self, the sacrifice of Ouroboros as a tyrannical representation of the eternal circle of life and death, appealing to the destruction of the duality that makes of every act an empty consequence, On which this this whole opus is based around.

By the way this is sung in english and to me has that old school feel to it which even brought more light to it, I highly recommend this to any true underground metal maniac, top tracks for me Burning The Eternal Return and Salve Azerate, this will be a limited release of 100 copies + sticker on tape and you can get it by contacting Herejia Prods at herejiaprods@gmail.com or Street Metal Blasphemy streetmetalblasphemy@gmail.com

Undertaker of the Damned – Satanas Potestas Est (2018)

Undertaker of the Damned
Release date:September 2018
Label:Australis Records

Undertaker of the Damned needs no introduction as this band has gone under this name since 1995 and it was a thrill to see they came up with a new one this year,if you never heard them they are a Black/Death Metal act.

What’s great about this band is that Hell Jf Screams the original and only vocalist is still cranking it out like a true warrior and on here he sounds top notch as ever.the album has seven new tracks and a bonus of a three track demo from 2004 that was never released.

But onto the album, all these new tracks are sung in spanish and the vocals really stand out on here, they are sick as hell and the combination of death and black on here is as good as it gets, a lot of variety on here which kept me glued to my speakers you could say,the guitar work on here is perfection!

I really can’t say anything bad about this release as it got better with each listen and I highly recommend it even the demo on here is worth it,one of the best of 2018 without a doubt.

Duam – Códice Nocturno (2018)

Duam
Release date:July 1st, 2018
Label:B.L.Z.B.U. Records

Here is this black thrash trio from Quellón that I first heard back in 2009 and they pretty much impressed me back then, so I seen they have been active since then with one full length already under their belt so I checked out this latest one and they changed direction compared to their earlier material but still this is some pretty sick blasphemous shit.

All these brutal hymns are all written and sung in spanish, from Chivato which means SNEAK you can hear these guys are out to kill with some of the best lyrics that I can totally get into, pure anti christian shit! the sound of the band is total old school worship as you hear a bit of all the classics throughout this whole album,

The vocals are excellent as there is a lot of power behind them and even the slower track Macuñ shows how deep they are as they add to what the song is about, not a blast beat track but has the right punch to it.the track Ñancupel is pretty interesting as it’s about Pedro Ñancúpel a Chilean pirate that killed numerous and was later executed, a good track to the list.

There is a total of eight tracks on here and a very good release that should please most bangers out there, great sounding production only bad note this has been sold out in physical copy and only available in digital format.

Blood Rites – Demo 1 (2018)

Blood Rites
Release date:June 9th, 2018
Label:Caverna Abismal Records

Black Metal this time around from this new trio, well from what I hear this is a side project of Evilkrusher the bassist and vocalist for Deathly Scythe but on here he plays guitar.

You get three tracks on here, on this first track Holy Hate first thing you’ll notice is the long intro before we get things rolling and once we do we get some pure old school filthy black metal but more on the thrashing side and it just pounds your head and the vocals here are more sick and come across really fresh but the track is very short, same thing on the next one Mask of Damnation more at a midpace here before it picks up with a nice blend of keyboards added to give it more depth, good shit.Dark Majestics closes this out with more dirty spewing through the whole thing and near the end it really gets insane and just puts an end to this really good debut of a demo.

Everything on here is killer only thing is the intros might not be for everybody but it doesn’t really matter as this is some solid shit that needs to be heard but like in some cases these days actual copies are hard to find an this is an example as it’s been sold out for quite awhile now, I just hope this project keeps going as it has potential.

(* A second pressing of this demo is being issued)

Perversor – Umbravorous (2018)

Perversor
Release date:November 1st, 2018
Label:Independent

Perversor is back with their third full length and I was pretty much shocked when I heard of this release coming out from the flyer that was going around saying it was coming out soon but they put the digital version out just a few days later.

So this is what you would expect from these veterans of the scene,no fucking around here as they go at from the beginning with no mercy as Deadly Poison and Black Fire grabs you by the balls as soon as you hear it, one thing I noticed on here is that the production is excellent! and that was one of the things that bothered me from their last full length but here they have nailed it to perfection.

I won’t go into every track on here as they all stand out but tracks like Formidable Destino, Merchant Of Spirits and the closer D.M.T which is my personal favorite on here, just because it has this punishing sound to it that gets your blood flowing.

If your into Perversor you will love this even to new comers of the band this is a good release to get you into the band. The vinyl and cd version is coming out on Pulverised Records from what the band mentions but no date has been announced.

Hellbutcher – Hellbutcher (2018)

Hellbutcher
Release date:October 19th, 2018
Label:Dark Recollections Productions

So the long awaited full length by this band has finally surfaced and it’s a good one no doubt as we get all the tracks from the 2016 Condemnatus Tormentum demo release are featured here as well rerecorded and sound even better.

It starts out with Bastardos de la Virtud which is a new track and I love how the intro has this eerie sound to the opening riff as it blends in before we go straight into this chaos and you can tell it’s the band because of its signature sound and it’s just very catchy all around as there is plenty of mayhem being cast out through this whole track, as we get into another new track Ritual de Profanación, I will say this whole album is sung in spanish but it really doesn’t matter as these tracks are really something to hear, right to the point as this one starts a bit slower but just for a bit as it starts to drive very quick and crushes in its glory.

Speed Death the instrumental on here sounds as good as ever, the production is really good on this as you can hear all the instruments ablazing as we blend into another new number, Fuerzas malditas and more of the same good shit on here as well but with a bit more aggression than the previous, just like the way the riffs are like a flowing force as this never gets boring just the way these compositions are written, they have their ups and downs but all just kill!

There are two keyboard instrumentals on here Lingua mortis and Condemnatus tormentum done by Brazilian Leandro Kastiphas former vocalist of Mystifier that add more feeling to the album.Nekrovulva, when I first heard it sounded like the band had taken a slower pace but just for a bit as it shreds as well the guitars on here really go off, some really good shit.

The next three tracks are all from 2016 demo and like I mentioned before all sound better on here so it’s a pleasure to hear them again,La cumbre del caos is actually the last track on here by the band and yes of all this one has a way different feel but still some great vibe to it, it closes out with an instrumental and then a Impurity cover Canonical Destruction which does the original justice.

This is a killer release from the band and is highly recommended not a dull moment through the whole thing, one thing though for those wanting to get a physical copy you should get in contact with the band as I posted earlier about this and Dark Recollections Productions from Mexico was to issue this but I have no clue what’s going on with that so the band released it in digital form but copies are available in Chile as far as I know.

Invocation – The Mastery of the Unseen (2018)

Invocation
Release date:September 17th, 2018
Label:Iron Bonehead Productions

This has been out for awhile now since writing this and actually when I saw the tracks I remembered I have heard them before as they were on a promo tape the band released a while back so it was nothing really that new but for the rest of the world it was.

These two tracks are in the same crushing direction the band has been going, some pleasurable Black/Death Metal with that signature sound they have been unleashing since their start. Sense of Premonition (vocals, guitar) really stands out on both tracks and those demonic growls of his really bring more life to the music.

This is a good small fix for fans of the band, let’s just see what comes next.

There’s no light, only pure hypnotic darkness!!
